About Unfair Platformer
Unfair Platformer is a free online rage platformer game that is difficult on purpose. Eight single-screen rooms stand between you and a door. The floor is ice. You jump by releasing the button, not pressing it. And every room adds a new way to ruin your run: inverted controls that tell you they inverted a second too late, 350 ms of fake input lag, platforms that blink out of existence, gravity that flips every few seconds, a camera that can't stand up straight, and an exit door that runs away when it sees you coming.
It is one of the hardest browser games we have made and easily the most annoying. There are honest checkpoints at every room, a death counter, a timer, and a real ending, so it is technically beatable. Technically. How to Play Unfair Platformer
- Move with the arrow keys or A/D. The floor is ice, so you will keep sliding after you let go.
- Hold SPACE, W, or the up arrow to charge a jump, then RELEASE to jump. Longer hold = higher jump. Hold too long and it fizzles.
- Touch the door to reach the next room. Each room is a checkpoint, and each one adds a new gimmick.
- Read the little status text in the corner: it tells you when controls invert, what the ping is, and when gravity will flip. Sometimes it is even on time.
- Press R to restart the room. Dying also restarts the room. Both count as deaths.
Tips & Tricks
- Under a low ceiling, tap the jump instead of charging it. A full-charge jump bonks the ceiling and drops you into the spikes.
- In the gravity room, stand where the floor AND the ceiling are both safe before the flip. Those spots are small. The countdown is honest.
- The door in room 7 only runs when you are on its level. It cannot look up.
Unfair Platformer FAQ
Is Unfair Platformer actually beatable?
Yes. Every gap is within what the character can jump, the checkpoints are real, the timer and death counter are real, and there is an ending screen with your stats. Nothing is rigged to be impossible. It is just rigged to be miserable.
Why does the jump happen when I let go of the key?
Because it is a crappy browser game and that is the gimmick. Hold to charge, release to jump. You get used to it right around the time the controls invert.
Does EASY MODE make it easier?
No. It makes you faster and your jumps bigger, which on ice with low ceilings is worse. It is offered after five deaths in a room purely to see if you will take it.
